A little about Alan…
Originally from New Jersey, Alan worked and lived in the New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, DC regions. He has lived in Asheville the last eleven years. Alan has a unique understanding of the local area. Being from a larger geographic region, Alan sees the larger regional picture as well as the details of neighborhoods.

Alan is well-known in the most sectors of the community. As the founder and organizer of Asheville Welcomes Transplants™, a very popular social group that connected newcomers for 6 years with hundred of events. Alan is also the founder and organizer of Vibrant Asheville Business™ which is a very well-attended business education and networking group. Alan also maintains working relationships with community and local government leaders, county commissioners, city council persons, as well as our representatives in Raleigh and Washington. He also has good rapport with the numerous agencies that affect you and the real estate market. Alan is committed to the diverse faith community.

Alan is a 40-year business person, public records expert, experienced researcher, problem-solver and negotiator with knowledge of numerous types of businesses. Formerly a private investigator, Alan’s brings a unique set of skills to the table when representing his clients. As an author, one of Alan’s books is Safer Online Dating©. Alan can often be found preparing for his clients down in the records vaults at the courthouse.

Alan is active in the real estate community. He was Co-Chair of Professional Development & Events Committee and sat on the Finance and Legislative/RPAC committees for the Land of the Sky Association of Realtors®. Alan is known for his monthly presentations of the monthly Realtor Safety message for new agents. He is a member of the Asheville Commercial Investment Realty Association, the National Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the Henderson Board of Realtors.


Alan is one of five Realtors in Western North Carolina to hold the At Home With Diversity (AHWD) designation, This designation by the National Association of REALTORS underscores Alan's firm commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, and non-discrimination.

One of the first local Realtors in the United States to receive the Building Green Real Estate (BGRE) certification, co-created by the Western North Carolina Green Building Council.

On the personal side, he enjoys his cat, reading, writing and many of Asheville’s offerings, such as Southern Conference basketball, Colburn Earth Science Museum (Patron), Asheville Lyric Opera, Asheville Ballet and the Asheville Symphony. Often, you’ll find him just taking a walk and enjoying the shops in downtown Asheville or Hendersonville. Alan is an advocate for diversity, multi-cultural inclusivity and faith-based organizations.
